Since 1992, I have been raising three children. Two of my children are gifted, so I have always been interested in how to best meet their needs. I received my teaching credential in 1992 as well. Since then I have been a part-time teacher, substituting or job-sharing. In 2005, I was invited to teach a GATE pull-out program. With no curriculum and no suggestions, I created 2-hour enrichment workshops using student input, parent input, gifted resources, and other high-level thinking materials. My workshops have always been a hit because I focus on teaching topics that aren't normally addressed in a classroom. My students come to class enthusiastically and excited to learn something new and interesting! Creating resources and activities for other teachers makes me happy. I hope my products inspire and motivate you while making your busy teaching lives a little bit easier.
I have a passion for creating resources that are fun, unique and make students THINK! I believe that it is a teacher's job to teach HOW to THINK, not WHAT to THINK! I created GATER Educator to help fill those needs as a gifted and talented program support teacher for over 15 years. Anytime you might want to take a break from the standard curriculum or daily routines, you will find my activities engaging and enriching. Teachers have let me know that my resources support easy-prep sub days, early finishers, and high-achievers and are perfect for FUN Fridays as well! I hope that you can find resources to fill the same needs in your classroom!
